Our June 2023 Event: Summer Social in London

This was the first in-person event we hosted in 2023. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to gather language professionals together to connect over a drink or two in an iconic location in London.

Plan A was to meet for a few refreshingly summery alfresco drinks at the Barbican Lakeside Picnic Garden. But the English weather tricked us yet again. So we went with Plan B and enjoyed Harvey Macaraig’s cocktails in the Martini Bar. Not bad either!

The official favourite cocktails of the day: Tommy’s Margarita, Espresso Martini, Daiquiri, Crodino Spritz and the Vesper Martini. Just delightful!

This time, we had translators, interpreters, project managers, language coaches and consultants who joined us, and we talked all things lingo, career, work, AI, movies, subtitles vs voice-overs, voice and accent training, language vs dialect, and everything in between.

It was nice to finally meet off-screen and see each other in the flesh. We exchanged contact details, connected over LinkedIn and had a jolly good time.
